Things-To-Do on a Rainy Day

It is true that you can't have a rainbow without a little rain. This is a great reminder, especially for everyone who's here in Manila and who's experiencing the roaring winds and crazy rain showers that has been pouring down ever since yesterday. So, today, I decided to write about the things that you can do on a rainy days like these (especially for those with no classes)
Check out the list below :)

Master Cleanse Experience

My Master Cleanse Experience or the Lemonade Diet. Do you have those days when you just wake up, look in the mirror and get surprised 'coz you don't look like your 'normal' self? It's in those times when you look bloated and just feel like you gained so much weight. (in your mind it's like 'what happened to me?!') Well, I had this experience a few days ago. I just felt annoyed at the world, and because of that, I acted out on the people around me. So, being my impulsive self, I decided to go on a juice cleanse that BeyoncĂ© and other celebrities have tried before.  I immediately bought the ingredients and started drinking it, carrying this juice with me wherever I went.

Overall, for me, it wasn't a good experience (but then again, we are all different what does not work for me might work for you.. who knows). At first, I was doing well, I enjoyed drinking it... but when lunch time arrived, it was difficult for me to watch people eat good food especially when they're beside me. You see, I had school on that day. I couldn't think straight. I was falling asleep in class and my energy level was so low. By night time, I couldn't take it, I ate food already! Haha!

Through this, I admit that my sugar cravings were lessened, and well I realised that a lot of self- control is needed because usually this cleanse lasts up to 10 days. I guess I'm really not built to 'not eat'. I promised myself after this that health is something you owe to yourself. It's not something that you can achieve overnight but its something that you have to work hard for. Now, I'm trying my best to eat clean and really take care of myself, because in the end..,no one else will.

So, if I were you, I'd start living a healthy lifestyle today :)

Managing Time

Managing time. In my Philosophical Anthropology class, we learned that 'time' is something that we cannot control but we can choose how to spend it wisely. This is when time, truly becomes gold, something priceless and something that can never be taken back.

Today, time management was something that I had to practice because I had to accomplish tasks for both school and work. In school, surprise quizzes were given so we always had to be ready. College is very fast-paced that's why self-studying is the best way to survive in it. Discussions, presentations and papers due are piling up that's why the best way to solve this is to have a to-do list. This just works for me so much because it makes me want to put a check to all those boxes. Also, wherever you are, make sure that you have your readings with you so that you get to finish reading them. After school, I went straight to work (with my special someone who accompanied me the whole time, thank you Miguel! Hi! hehe), which was in the VIVA office to record for Sarah Geronimo's voice over in the Popstar Diaries show in Viva channel. It's always fun to do this because I enjoy reading  (with feelings of course!)  and for a few minutes I get to become like a ….Popstar... like Sarah... haha!

At the end of the day, I realized that time is really something that we should all treasure. We should not make it control us, but instead we should control our own time because it's always up to us to decide how we will spend it. Today, I can say that I used my time wisely. How about you? Did you do the same? What can you do to make time for the things that you prioritize in your life?

Weekend Getaways

Weekend Getaways. First of all, I have to apologize for not updating my blog lately, I promise that starting today I will blog more DIYs, more beauty tips and tricks and random things that I would want to share with you guys. I started this blog not for myself, but with the goal to share to others what I know about styling, traveling, creating something out of things that we already have at home, fitness and more. I will see to it that whenever you will read my posts, you'll learn something from it because this is my dream. I want to inspire others through this blog. I want you to feel good about yourself, or learn something new after reading the things that I'm going to write about. It would be great too, if you suggest topics for me to write about :) (well, because there's just too much!)

Anyway, just this weekend, my family and I had an impromptu trip out of town. It made me realize so much about my family and about balancing everything in life especially after watching my new favorite movie If I Stay. (if you haven't watched it, then now's the time… you're really missing out if you don't) In this fast paced world that we live in, sometimes, it's good to stop, look and be grateful for the blessings you're receiving every single day. Even if it's just waking up in the morning, eating breakfast with your parents, seeing your friends in school and more… makes you realize that the people in the everyday routine that we have are the ones that make life worth waking up to. Often times, you have to appreciate the people around you, especially your family because they're the ones whom you can trust fully and will always be there for you to love you.

It's good to try to balance your life and not just focus on work. Take a break. Know that what you are going through now (which you call 'stress' -- may it be in school or work) is something that will pass because God will never give you something you can't handle. There's bad times because there will always be something good that will come out of it. So, spend time with your loved ones, appreciate them, be grateful to have them and  try to balance everything in your life now. You can do it, I know you can :)

6 Things to Love About Travelling

Travelling. To take a 'journey' of some sort to another country is definitely a privilege. It's something to be truly grateful for because it's chance to be a first-hand witness of the wonders and the beauty of the world that we live in. It takes lots of preparations (from the tickets to the packing of clothes, what to bring, etc.) and finally, when the day comes, there's just something thrilling about it. Especially now that I'm a little bit older, I guess, it's something that I truly admire because I love the idea of 'taking a break'. We all need it. Sometimes an 'escape' from the usual routine brings us back to our senses and creates a different person, a better, more relaxed and peaceful version of ourself. Unfortunately, once we go back to the hustle and bustle of the city that we live in, we're back to reality. *insert sad teary-eyed emoticon* So, with that, let me ask you, what do you love about travelling? Here, I tell you 6 things that I personally love about it! See if you agree & read more

8 Things That I Learned as a Freshman in College

It's June once again and it's a brand new school year for you and me. Right now, I'm a sophomore in college so I was given the chance to experience how it is to be in a university for at least a year already. I remember the time when I first entered my new school. I had mixed emotions, (happy, excited, scared, uneasy, nervous...all of these and more) since it was all so different. With a heart-rate that's higher than the usual and clothes that screamed 'this is me' I entered my classroom with a hopeful heart that I'll be able to survive 4 years in this college. Well if you ask me now, I'm glad to say that I did survive (and was able to maintain my scholarship and be part of the Dean's Lister throughout the year) while trying to adjust to the new environment around me. So what did I pick up from the past school year? Here are the 7 things that I learned as a freshman in college.
